Weekend Raya Haji

Sedih...sbb OP kodok tak balik :(
ika said she is naughty now, OP came back last week to ganti this week get together. sadly aku takde, tak tau pun diorang balik, even my kl anty pun tau hehe...
but anyway, that friday night, i told my mom "ma, esok nak buat pengat pisang"
she was like "boleh..mama tau buat" and i replied "tak, mama tak tau sbb mama tak pernah buat pun" wakaka...mcm laser lak...tp tak la...aku ckp dlm lenggok yg manja ok :p lebih kurang je ayatnya...aku tak ingat exact ayat pun hehe
so i told her that i was going to cook.

the next day, when i helped her to carry lunch meals inside (dapur aku separate dgn main house) i saw these bowls...i asked her " ma, nak buat ape ni?" pointing at the bowls..
"kata nak buat pengat." fuyo...mak aku dah kuarkan mangkuk pagi2 lagi..iyelah...anak dia mana penah masak :p hehe

so, aku kene bersemangat to buy all those ingredients...my sister drove me to all related kedai and after turun naik kedai, i bought the santan and gula melaka at this groceries shop..punya lah nak elak traffic dekat bandar sbb orang balik kampung. at one point, i told ika to balik since we got all the ingredients and my sister looked at me (aku rasa dia pun pk, btul ke dah cukup bahan) and suddenly said "eh pisang! nak makan pengat ape takde pisang."
"eh aa..haha..makan kuah pengat je la :p" i totally forgot the pisang when that was the main bahan hehe..

the rain didnt stop, so we cook in hujan. my mom sibuk nak buat spaghetti so it was like two dishes at one go.
my mom is a discipline cook, she got it from my atok. atok was strict than my mom i think.
so the first step is to cairkan the gula melaka mama style...
"ma, tak yah potong ke gula melaka bg hancur skit"
"takyah.."
finally gula melaka melted..
"ma, gya campur santan ek..."
"nanti, kene tos dulu." (ekk...tos?)
so my mom amik tapis, and tapis the melted gula melaka. she claimed kalau ada bende ke like kumbang (?#%$) or whatever yg halus2 boleh nampak and buang. so thank god no kumbang in it..
mama cakap "gula melaka mama mahal, kalau yg murah mesti ada" boleh tahan statement mak aku hehe
i then pour the santan, didih, pour the pisang, didih...
"ma, kalau ada daun pandan bau wangi ma"
my adik2 ika and ito was in the kitchen. ika was cutting the cheese into small chunck of cheese...bagi dadu-like cheese since takde cheese flakes...(btul ke aku tulis ni hehe)
ito was excited i think to see the sisters working in da kitchen plus cooking tu!
he helped stirred the spaghetti sauce and tengok2 my pengat pisang hehe...so i asked him
"to, umah kita ada tanam daun pandan tak?"
"ada...hujan la"
"gi la amik daun pandan 2-3 helai.."
then he was gone and a few seconds there was daun pandan in his hand.
fuyo...senang giler nak pujuk dia amik...hujan lak tu...
he said "demi gya, aku amik gak daun pandan ni!" hehe
well, i think he was excited to see me cook when he only see me cook 2-3 times in his entire life haha...so sanggup buat ape saje la maknanya!
it was beautiful pengat pisang i ever laid my eyes on! :p plus sagu gentel tu..sagu yg mcm halus2 tu...sagu gentel? hehe
tak sangka aku buat pengat pisang!

after we ate my mom spaghetti, the dessert was pengat pisang. i could see everybody eager to taste pengat and me too! :)
one spoonful of pengat in everybody's mouth and mmm....sedapnye! :)
dah la panas...that pengat dapat 2 mangkuk besar, so one for panas and one for sejuk. it was 45 mins cook for 10 people. i remembered ain cook for around 10 mins for 2 people so i thought that was a piece of cake. wallah...utk 10 org, that was tiring hehe...but it was extremely worth it. :)
ito even said "sedap...aku bagi markah 7."
"7 per berapa? 10?" i asked
"7 per 7 la" what a statement! gile suka aku...it was not a predictable announcement from a sibling hehe...tak sangka aku kene puji :) kembang jap.

Raya haji..my brothers didnt go to the mosque sbb hujan or sbb malas or sbb bangun lambat. i dunno...i would believe all 3 haha
i never celebrate hari raya haji. baju n seluar that is it on that day. this year baju kurung ok..
in the afternoon pergi rumah tok ji since anty shaukat jemput my family to makan2 and get together. all donning baju kurung and baju melayu. mcm raya lak! aidilfitri i mean :)
after makan2 i heard anty shaukat said to my mom "jar, tadi we all dah takbir. ni kita takbir sama2."
so we all takbir together lead by one of my second cousin...aku tak pernah takbir formally...takat tgk tv je takbirnya...so it was like first time takbir in my life :) never cross in my mind that family can takbir together. ingatkan kat masjid je hehe...maybe my family can start our own takbir next year.
then...the cousins sambung karaoke balik haha :p we are modern family kekeke
oo...by da way...sani made a video call and pi appeared on the screen with weena and opheleea nur kamilah on it! yeay! dapat gak tgk opie kodok..copong2 muka dia dlm video call :O hehehe

p/s nanti aku upload gambo pengat pisang aku wakaka! :p (siap amik tu..amacam ila...poyo tak aku? hehe)
